The event was run by Water Orton Carnival Committee and as usual, it was extremely popular! Included in the day were food, drink and bingo, plus a 40’s and 50’s singer who was thoroughly entertaining.
Need something to look forward to at this time of the year? Well how do you fancy getting yourself all dressed up and feeling good for a fantastic evening at our Carnival Charity Black Tie Ball on Saturday 18th May 2013? Running alongside our Golf Day, we’re holding this at the same venue – The Lake at Barston. So if your other half’s been out on the golf course all day, or if you just fancy a great night out, you need to book your tickets now!
Cost is just £30 per person and includes a 3 course meal and music for all tastes with a local covers band. If you would like to go, we need a deposit of £10 per person by 10th February, so you need to get a move on! Dress code is black tie for the gents and dress to impress for the ladies – a perfect excuse for a new outfit!
Best of all, there’s no need to worry about how you’re getting there and back, because for an extra £6 per person, you can be collected from either The Digby or The Dog and dropped back at the same place at the end of the evening.
The golf day and the black tie ball are separate events, so you can come to either, or both if you prefer! For further information contact firstname.lastname@example.org (golf day) or email@example.com (black tie ball), or call our hotline on 07407 629306. All proceeds to this year’s carnival.
This year’s Carnival Sleigh Run was a fantastic success and thanks to residents, visitors and ofcourse Mr Claus and his helpers, a santa-stic £1270 was raised towards 2013’s carnival.
Residents were out in force to show their support for what was a long but enjoyable day for the Carnival team starting at 1 o’clock at Mytton Road and finishing around 8.45 p.m. at St Blaise Avenue. The journey included a special trip to Gilson which provided a slightly surreal sight for motorway drivers as the brightly-lit sleigh crossed over the motorway bridge, lighting up the night!
Thanks to everyone who showed their support and of course to Santa for giving up his time at his busiest time of the year.
