Water Orton Carnival Committee is made up of a small, diverse group of volunteers.
We’re a friendly bunch and come from all walks of life, experience, and backgrounds. The one thing that unites us all? Serving Water Orton and planning and delivering events that excite, engage and in turn, support the people of the village.
At the AGM, we will be voting for the posts below AND volunteers. If you’d like to join the Committee, this is your chance!

CHAIR:
Providing leadership to the Committee, takes ultimate responsible for the orderly running of the Committee. They are likely to be the Senior Responsible Person (SRO) for all events and activities the Committee holds. This includes being the main liaison between licensing authorities and emergency services, supported by the Vice Chair and/or the Secretary and/or the Treasurer. The Chair also acts as ultimate and final decision maker in the case of any decision not reaching a consensus through the normal business of the Committee. They will also issue agendas for each Committee meeting, in liaison with the Secretary.
SECRETARY:
Chiefly responsible for documenting key decisions of the Committee and liaising with licensing authorities, supported by the Chair. This includes gaining permits and all licenses from Warwickshire County, North Warwickshire Borough and Water Orton Parish Councils. The Secretary is also responsible for calling all AGMs and/or elections and to keep WOCC’s Constitution up to date and ensure the business of WOCC adheres to the Constitution.
VICE CHAIR:
Deputises for the Chair in their absence. The Chair and Vice Chair will split the licensing and emergency services liaison between themselves. The Vice Chair can make ultimate and final decisions in the absence of the Chair and in cases of the Committee not reaching a consensus.
TREASURER:
Ultimately responsible for ensuring the financial management of income and expenditure of WOCC, and reporting on both as and when required but as a minimum of once a month during WOCC’s ‘active months’ (September – July). They are also responsible for making payments and investments on WOCC’s behalf and for ensuring deposits of any cash raised through WOCC events and activities. Please note, the Treasurer will need to undertake credit checks by our bank.
