There’s plenty going on at this year’s Carnival once again and this is just a small selection so, for full details, don’t forget to pick up your programme.

Procession around the village

The theme for this year’s procession is ‘Storytime’ and we are pleased to say that we will have quite a few more floats taking part than last year. We are having a walking fancy dress procession and will be joined by a few classic cars and our favourite superheroes again, so why not join in the fun? Find out who are this year’s Royal Court here. The Procession kicks off on Plank Lane opposite the school.

Water Orton Dog Show

We know Water Orton loves its dogs, so what better way to celebrate our faithful friends than to parade them around our Dog Show Arena and be in with a chance of them being recognised as Best in Class?

There are 6 classes for the village’s poochies to be entered into, plus Best in Show with a prize for each class winner, 2nd and 3rd and a trophy for Best in Show.

Maximum of 20 entries per class, so please do register early to avoid disappointment. Each entry will be £2 per dog per class. Registration will open at 12 noon on Carnival Day at the Dog Show Arena and will be on a first come, first served basis.

The Jo Baldwin Project

On stage around 2.25pm. The award winning band, fronted by singer-songwriter Jo Baldwin, have ten years’ experience playing classic songs – both well known and deep cuts – from the 60s to modern day such as tracks from The Cranberries, The Beatles, Janis Joplin and many, many more.

Johnny Rickard

Renowned tribute act Johnny Ricard will be appearing as On stage as Elvis around 3.40pm and as Neil Diamond around 4.30pm.

Dance & Tae Kwon-Do Displays

We welcome Fusion of Dance to the arena at around 2.00pm and a Tae Kwon-Do demonstration from Coleshill TKD at around 3pm.

Local Vocals

Local Vocals are a friendly group of singers who will be performing in the arena around 1.25pm.

Old Salts Rugby Club have kindly offered to provide limited free parking again this year. You can find them at the end of Coleshill Road, post code B46 1QE. Please ensure that you do not park where you will cause an obstruction for the procession around the village.

How much and how to pay

Don’t forget that admission is by programme only, these will be on sale on the day at the field entrance gates at Openfield Croft and Vicarage Lane at a cost of £4, or £3 for OAPs and one adult programme admits two children FREE. If at all possible please bring the correct change as this really helps us and speeds up the queues.

See you there!
